I heard the best idea yesterday on the radio I have heard for a long time. That is to charge 1 cent for every email sent out.
I think that is an excellent idea. It would basically shut the spammers down cold, but legitimate emails wouldn't be affected much if at all.
The people you do business with on a regular basis aren't going to worry about spending even several hundred dollars a day at 1 cent per email. Places like Amazon.com, etc.
