I know several folks that work at Wally world, and enjoy it. I shop there alot, and have no regreats.
They first advertized they bought from American companies when they first hit town.....now not so much.
They hire many handicaped in wheel chairs, and some others that are physicaly disabled somewhat, and that is a real plus in my book.
They also donate to our local fire depaertment, and they are not even in our state, or near me in my state. The closest one does get alot of business from our state and town however, because they are twenty munites away.
The local mom and pop stores can complain all they want, but if you showed up before 9AM, or after 5 PM, the doors were locked, and tough luck if you wanted something on Sunday, or even Saturday afternoon.
Most of the mom and pop stores had owners who had a better lifestyle than the customers that walked in their doors. The wealth stayed in the family from generation to generation, now the Wally world folks have taken this away, and Wallys are labled bad?
If we remember, mom and pop bought out their competion some times as well, or at leat tried to get the customers away from them if possible. Isn't this what Ol Wally is doing, only on a much bigger scale?
I would find it hard to believe the employes have alot of decisions to make when working there, as it has been time proven to do the task as Wall Mart says to do them. They probably overlook alot of good suggestions along the way, but big companies often work that way.
My local town seems to move to Wal -Mart on week ends, kind of like a family reunion where you can visit your neighbor you haven't seen for a few weeks.
