When you owe money and "tender" the payment thererof, cash money in the form of United States backed currency (paper or coin) is considered as "legal tender" However its probably hard to force private contracting parties (buyers and sellers) to accept one form of payment versus another likely subject to exceptions such as one party is the US Government, I havent researched it so NO Warranty.
