The stratospheric O2 is primarily affected by the chlorofluorocarbons released in massive amounts by volcanic activity. Primarily because volcanic activity releases thousands of times more CFCs by weight than man has ever produced and the blast effects of volcanic eruptions eventually sends the gasses to the stratosphere.
The US government's war on R12 has had the same effect on the ozone layer as the **** I took this morning and flushed down the toilet will have on raising the ocean levels.
