Check with your state ins. offices for an explanation as laws vary by state. Depending on how your business is set up, your personal assets may be at risk if worker gets injured and you lack coverage. Many exceptions/rules regarding family members, etc. Premiums/rates are determined by type of work and based on payroll. If you need coverage for help, not worth risk of not having insurance. See a reliable ins. agent who deals with commercial lines coverages (if you need policy). Independent agent can shop between many companies and programs.
