A land description of a farm I grew up on says: "section 18, in township 100 North, Range 11....now this is not the complete description and as I understand it this property is 100 townships north of the base line for northern Iowa. If each township it 6 miles square, then the base line must be 100 x 6 miles or 600 miles south of this land and that would put it about on the southern border of Missouri.
