Around here you can get more at the scrap yard than the salvage yard on older stuff. I had a 1990 Olds 98 with the 3800 engine. It ran real good and had less than a year on all new brakes and lines. The fuel line rusted a hole in it. I did not want to mess with it any more. I tried to sell it to four different people and they would pick it apart. They would not give me $500 that I was asking. I finally got PO and took it into the scrap yard and got $550. So I can under stand just scrapping it. Much less bother.
