Interesting, I was told this was coming last august when I was recertified for first aid, CPR and AED. My boss in his good forsight bought an AED unit 2 years ago and had a bunch of us trained to use it and CPR. The previous year one of my guys suffered a massive and fatal heart attack during lunch break. We did all we could to help but we couldn't save him. It took EMS almost 10 minutes to travel the 1.5 miles from their base to our plant. Nobody will ever know if we had had proper training and the AED on hand if we could have saved John, but now we've leveled the playing field a little.
