Accurate observations have been stated here regarding both horses and hogs. Main reason Texas has an over population of horses is as a result of laws banning slaughter. Some strong contrubutions to wild hog population. #1 Greed,land owners who charge hunters to kill them without consideration of the big picture. It is not uncommon for trappers to collect bounty on one farm then smuggle the larger ones to a hunting resort where "REAL MEN"pay to shoot them. #2 Outright cantankerusness and obstinateness when it comes to joining forces for a greater good. There are areas where sheep ranchers tax themselves to fianance coyote eradication efforts which are quite effective. I spect if some fool started advertising guaranteed kill fantisiy hunts for coyote and wild dogs on his land,he would incounter an angery mob. In spite of it all,I remain optamistic that sensability will return soon and the problem(s)will be solved.
