Guess I'm a little out of your way... Wine up here sucks unless you like vinegar....Beer is better this direction than the bitburger slop that comes from that direction though. Trier is nice but the whole area down there south of Ktown is decent. If you're interested in war stuff, you won't be far from Bastogne and several of the WWII Cemeteries and Monuments. If you don't have any really set plans, get rent you a little diesel car and joy ride through the south. Plenty of stuff to do and see all over the country but it's extra nice down there and across southern Bavaria.
