If you are having that trouble with a JD 6400 then you have something else wrong that is causing the tensioner to fail. My JD 6400 is a 1992 model. Just turned over 14000 hours. I have a 640 loader on it it gets used everyday. Only replaced one belt in all of those hours. Two starters and the trans mission input shaft are the total repairs done to it.
