I have seen a 6V coil blow up with 12V put to it but I've never heard of it happening beside this one time.
12V was put into a 6V coil with battery charger on the battery. The guys working on it left for break and forgot to take the power off the coil. Came back from break, hit the starter and BOOM! It was a tar filled coil and it blew the guts 3/4 of the way out of the can. Made for a good display afterwards. Everyone in the shop was walking around stiff legged for awhile afterwards. Jim

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Purchaser Checklist - by Greg Sheppard. Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen. It has great power for its size and can really hunker down and lug. Classified as a 3-bottom plow depending on soil conditions.
