The B was running well, then started to miss, blubbered on a few more cycles then died. No amount of cranking will start it.
Carburator seemed OK (new gas, no obstructions in the line) but swaped in another from my SA just to check - no satisfaction.
The magneto primary wire throws a spark across 1/4 inch when the impulse coupling trips and the timing is set correctly. Spark is yellow-blue - same as when I first got it started two weeks ago.
I thought that I may have blown a head gasket. I haven't got electric start, sooo I did a compression test by hand cranking (best I could do). All cylinders registered 60 psi.
Last possibility - the manifold had a leak on the exhaust side (I plugged it), but nothing on the intake side I can find. When it started to miss, I blew propane around the manifold, with no effect.
What do you all think - mag tune-up, new head gasket or manifold? Something I'm missing?
