Some head gaskets are marketed at no retorque. I still checked them on warmup but didn't follow up like 100 hrs later as we were supposed to do on other engines. With the head torque sequences used on todays engines you just about throw everything you ever learned, out the window. IH changed their methods later on in the 400 series engines but the biggest changes I actually did was when I worked on the John Deere's. I'm talking mainly about the sequence not the torque turn method which also comes into play. Just didn't seem right to me going right down one side instead of working your way out from the middle to ends.
