Your "Best Before" statement got me to thinkin'
For years, I would call different companies Customer Service and inquire about the 'Best Before' date. Most said that that was all they were allowed to say it was good for. A few went even further and said that as long as the seal wasn't broken or hooved up and you heard the vacuum break when you opened it, if it didn't smell bad or rancid, it was okay to eat!
