'bout 5 years ago, I'se on a woodworking forum and somebody posts that Sears has their 17 inch drill presses on sale and posts a link. They're normally $579 and are on sale for $179; I figure it's a mistake, but buy/pay for one to be picked up at any Sears store that has a tool department. I print out the receipt and call my brother to tell him; he calls back in about 15 minutes and says they're no longer available. Nearest store is about 45 miles away and it's a few days before I get there. Fellow says that it was all a mistake, they're all sold out, but have some more coming. About a week later, I go back by...to the back door/customer pickup; fellow who waits on me says they're all gone/won't be any more/if I'll wait a minute, he'll get the manager. While I'm waiting, I walk out on the floor and there's one on display........same model number. Go back to see the manager; he apologizes profusely and says they'll do whatever it takes to make me happy. I say, "What about the one on display?" He turns to the other guy and you can almost see sparks flying from his eyes; "WE'VE GOT ONE ON THE FLOOR?" Fellow just shrugs and says, "I don't know." Manager says if I'll back up to the dock they'll load me up, which I did; saved 400 bucks.
