'58 Chevy impala with the whole back end cut off. Basically, from the back window it went down to the tires, and the backend was open behind the seat and had about a 10 gallon plastic gas tank coatwired right behind the back seat, and a wood rear bumper with lights fastened to it. It ran real good, but what a piece of crap that was. One day a sheriffs deputy passed me going the other way, saw me in his rear view mirror, and pulled a U-turn. It had valid plates, but he took exception to its safety and road worthiness, and that was the end of that car.
After that, a whole stable of late '60's and early '70's Chevys that included Impalas, El Caminos, Novas, and Chevelles, all factory 427 and 454 short blocks off of the assembly lines, except the Nova. It came with an aluminum head 375 HP 396 that actually carried its own weight. I once even had a '69 390 Mustang, but my brother was the FE Ford guy, not me, so I didn't have it long.
Those days and those kinds of muscle cars are long gone.
