Okay, so Im an old conservative fuddy duddy who doesnt like change, but being from Indiana I can recall race day with such fond memories and to me ITS JUST NOT THE SAME OR AS GOOD GRRRRRRRRR

After that Cart and Indy Car feud and Tony Hulmans passing and mostly foreign drivers, seemed it went downhill TO ME AT LEAST

My fond memories are of Sid Collins calling the race,,,,,,, having a cook out while listening,,,,,the roadsters,,,,,,,, the days of Jones and Foyt and Ward and Rutherford and Andretti and Sachs and the Bryant Cooling and Heating Special and Bowes seal fast and Freddie Agabashin spelling???? and AJ Watson ,,,,,,,,The screaming NOVI and the Offy and the Granatellis and the Turbo and the Cummins Diesel Special,,,,,,,and people in line at 5 AM,,,,,,,AND WHEN DRIVERS SPENT THE ENTIRE MONTH THERE,,,,,,and WIBC 1070 30 day coverage,,,,,,,and when Donald Davidson first appeared with his encyclopedic memory of every race driver and finish position,,,,,,,,and the 3 times winners Louis Myer, Wilbur Shaw and Mauri Rose (Rutherford???),,,,,,,,,and the 4 timers Foyt 61, 64, 67, 77 and Al Sr and Rick Mears NOTE ALL THAT FROM MEMORY NO WARRANTY LOL

Oh well so Im old and nostalgic and dont like change I STILL SAY IT WAS A GREATER SPECTACLE THEN VERSUS NOW

Thats my story n Ima stickin to it and I have that right lol

Ol John T, still stuck in the 50"s n early 60"s I reckon

But all in all "Its been a good ride"

"He went to Paris lookin for answers to questions that bothered him so...........Now he lives in the islands fishes the pilons and drinks his green label each day, writing his memoirs loosing his hearing but HE DONT CARE WHAT MOST PEOPLE SAY, Through 86 years of perpetual motion if he likes you he will smile and he will say, Jimmy some of its magic n some of its tragic but its been a good life aLL THE WAY" CAN ANYONE NAME THE AUTHOR OF THAT SONG????????? (its easy)

Today's Featured Article - A Towny Goes Plowing - by Anthony West (UK). I live in an area renowned for its rural beauty. Small fields with hedgerows and trees are common place, as are small hamlets with village greens and the odd duck pond complete with swans. The center of any village once the shop is closed is the old tavern. Rustic places with cheerful names like "The Griffin" "Red Lion" or "The Plough and Harrow" are found dotted around the country lanes all over the place. The warm glow of yellowish light can be seen for quite some distance at dusk, and ... [Read Article]
