I don't know whether to laugh my fool head off or be insulted like never before. I just got turned down for a credit card. I've never had one,never wanted one,haven't got any debt,haven't had for a while.
I called Enterprise a few weeks ago to reserve a car to drive on vacation like we've done for the past two years. They asked if I had a credit card. I told them no,just the debit card we'd used the last two times. They said the company was getting picky about that kind of thing,said they could do it if I jumped through enough hoops,but they preferred a credit card. I was at the bank two weeks ago,asked about a card for things like that if I REALLY had to use it. One of the higher ups said they had their own credit card,but they weren't a big enough bank to do it on their own so they went through another bank,but their name was on it. She said there was no charge if I didn't use it,no charge if I paid it off within 25 days,all that stuff. I told her the situation with Enterprise. She said if I wanted one,she could fax the paperwork so I'd have it within two weeks. I went ahead and did it,although VERY apprehensively.
So today,I get a DENIAL in the mail! Said I don't have enough account activity,not enough recent payment history,something about national credit history etc.
I guess the only way they want you is if they know you won't pay so they can make a bunch of money off of you.
I might have to go buy a new car so I don't have to rent one. lol
