working on my farmall cub, again, this time i put a new carb kit in it trying to solve a over fueling issue [ black smoke out the stack and fuel fouled plugs] this is after i replaced the mag points, took 2 sets to get one that worked, the condenser, it took 6 to get one that worked finaly found that one online nos, rotor, cap, wires and plugs parts bought online, thats all ill say, but not fleabay, and never at tsc! now i replaced the plugs again, since they were so fuel fouled they were causing a miss, that set has about 20 acres of grass mowing on them when i started the tractor it ran fine, no black smoke now,...and then the engine warmed up, now i have a miss, the engine was overhauled just before i got it and all 4 cylinders have good compresion, doesnt burn oil, so my bet is a bad new wire, which are the solid core wires, not the new grapfite stuff for electronic ignition, cub is all original 6volt mag ignition, so where is there any parts worth buying these days, the local auto parts store has been bought out and the goobers in there now may have seen tractors on tv, but thats about the limit of their knowledge so thats out, im ready to trade one of the pickups for a good A or B, or even a C with a belly mower and just move on while it looks nice, this tractor is a full time using tractor ,like all mine are so i need it to run, and run right when i need it
