Glad you're happy with Win7. See, it didn't hurt to change.
One of my computers is 9 years old and running Win 7, it could run Win 8. You couldn't do that with a rotten Apple computer. From their own website to upgrade to 'Mavericks':
•iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
•MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
•MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
•MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
•Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
•Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
I just put Linux Mint on one of my son's 2006 Dell laptop. He didn't want to spend the money for Win 7 or 8, but either would have run fine. At least I can give him tech support for Linux.
I'm running Win 8.1 on this computer and I LIKE IT! It's my gaming box and is 7 years old!
