Steve, I'm taking a crash course on Medicare rules like you are. My sis, who went through this with her father in law gave me some quick pointers so I went to the hospital office and got a printout of some of the rules. Dad needs to be in the hospital three full days, not counting the dismissal day, to qualify for Medicare paying for the nursing home for his recovery time. I know the hospital knows the rules but I am going to chat with them anyway. We are never done learning, that's for sure. Jim
