I have a John Deere 2640 - about a 1983. If I dump oil in the hydraulic reservoir in front everything works. But the rear end just fills up. So, I thought the pick up tube to the transmission pump was broke, so I split the tractor and all of the steel lines are fine. How do I check the transmission pump to see if it is bad, or if there is some other problem? The problem started as...at an idle the power steering would not work, I would have to rev it up. I checked all of the filters and the screens and they are not plugged up. If anyone has any questions and could help me, please call me. I need this tractor asap. Thanks, Joe 920.850.6907
