The only way you will get anything close to the proper answer is to contact the DMV in the state you want to register it in. Ask you questions, write it down and the name of the person you talk to and where they are located, what dept. There may be a simple and easy way to do it.
Asking a question like this on this forum is going to get you answers that range from may be right to dead wrong. DMV is the only place to get the right answer. I can tell you that as far as I know based on over 20 years of police work that if you go past the date they give, it's an unregistered vehicle IN MY STATE. Yours may differ. Talk to DMV!
