I was at a race one time and the then owner and big boss of a racing league whose name I won't mention, bought one for his wife for her birthday and had it delivered at the championship last race of the season. It was accompanied by a matching fully dressed out 4x4 Dodge extended cab dually, interiors done in matching burgandy leather or naugahyde and all the trim. Quite a setup. We were told at the time that it was about a $100K combined setup, birthday present, and it probably was. They brought it into the infield drivers/owners lot where the car owners and real big shots parked their motorhomes, and the owner's motorhome driver washed, waxed, cleaned it all up for him to give to her for her birthday, which he did. "Happy Birthday!". She walked through it, they closed it up, and someone drove it from that track to the Indy track, where according to the Indy fellas, it got used once and then parked on the back of the property where it sat for years, never used again. For all I know, it might still be there.
Airstreams sure are nice, and I'm going to guess or bet that yours is nicer than the newer ones. Much good luck in your restoration. Things always seem to mean more to the owners that work and work hard for them, and I'm certain that yours will have earned its love, respect, care, and upkeep.
