Structurally it's not going to hurt the tire... today. What will happen over time... the wire is going to corrode. If I didn't own the tire I'd probably endeavour to never own it... but if I already had it.. I'd just get a big tube of black silicon, cover it over good, let it set up... and mount it. Silicon will buy some time. Chances are, if you don't work the thing hard it's never ever going to matter.
