They absolutely do not care if you shoot them with any sort of bee/wasp killer. Stuff that drops other wasps without hesitation I've emptied half a can on these, and they simply shake it off and fly away.
Fortunately, they're not terribly fast. If you're quick enough, it's possible to get them with a tennis racket. They're the size of a small humming bird.
I'm a bee keeper. I've had hundreds of honey bee's on me at once. It doesn't bother me at all, and other than a few events where i've been stung a few times, it's largely harmless. These things instill fear in me.
