My 79 3/4 ton Dodge Power Wagon has a close ratio four speed that suddenly developed a rhythmic clunk in the tranny. Son shifted it into reverse and it made a bang, now it has this rhythmic clunk with the clutch engaged in neutral. The speed of the clunk is quite a bit slower than engine RPM so I assume a low speed shaft and gear are involved. It has had a little rhythmic noise in reverse for a long time so it's probably had a damaged or cracked tooth for awhile and now it let go. I know a few of you guys are fairly well versed in Dodges and have a few Dodges sitting around so do any of you know anything about this tranny off hand? As I understand this tranny goes in light trucks too. I don't have a battle plan organized yet as to whether I will try to fix this one or just replace it. Thanks, Jim
