Welding was a new technology at that time in our lives (1950's-60's) and not many had the money or skills to start to learn about it, my Dad grew up with horses,,I don't have any idea on how to put a set of harness on a team. Vo-Ag classes helped to fuel our interest in welding and repair. When I was young ( In my teens) we didn't have much to work with, we would borrow an old Deere PTO air pump of a neighbor to air wagon tires up with, borrow jumper cables off another neighbor, and a guy down the road did small welding jobs for us. But back then the equipment was much simpler and the old 60's never seemed to need much repair. Even now my small shop has "way" more things to work with than the Deere dealer I worked for in the 70's had.
