I loaded up the 3 "children" in the Ranger and ran around the fence last night to check for any fallen limbs on the wires. I have a hot wire around the top of the 5 wire fence because the draft horses love to reach over for the greener grass on the other side and can destroy a good barbed wire fence in just a few days. Also look at the grass and check for weeds or thistles.
I like to give the horses a few horse treats when I'm out there fooling around so they will come easier when I want them. I had loaded up the dogs and they weren't happy about how close the horses were getting to them..lol! When one stuck his head inside the Ranger, the one little Jack Russell about took his nose off. I finally had to give up and drive off. The funny thing is that the little Jacks will try to chase the big drafts when they come in to eat. The drafts aren't afraid by any means, but when the Jacks are on the ground by the barn, they are pretty tough. But when cornered in a open vehicle, they are a little more "gentlemanly" lol! Bob
