Hi If it runs ok and only really needs a starter, where else can you get a diesel tractor with good tires recent/rebuilt motor and 3 point for that price. Power steering would be nice though. I would check the motor oil for water . That looks like an original block and they had a bad habit of eating blocks internally through the cylinder bores or I think where the cam shaft runs. It is an English spec tractor, it could of come over new, or been a used tractor import in more recent years. As for the lucas starter, I bet this site sells them, or a well known auction site. I just pulled up a 5000 starter and there was about 2 acres of models it fitted in the USA listing I found, and pretty cheap to. It actually fits more than that model ford, and many other makes/model of machine to.
