Unless the cop is planning something he shouldn't be I would think a camera would be welcome if he isn't wearing one. A lot of police forces are starting to wear them just to eliminate the bad guys from trying to say the "cop started it" or the "cop did that for no reason". If the cop is on the up and up why wouldn't he say "go ahead and record"?
