Well over 30 yrs ago, I owned a software company and did some programming for a customer who made VCR systems for cop cars. VCR was in a box in the trunk. Camera on the windshield. It was pretty new technology and assuredly crude compared to today's stuff. Anyway, there was a guy who claimed he was beat up during a traffic stop. His attorney was full of bluster about suing the city until they showed him the video of the guy banging his head on the cop car hood. Attorney just shut up and walked out the door. :lol:
In general, I don't think a cop would care if you're polite and not aggressive. Recording during a stop protects both parties, IMO.
