I've also gotten a few spam calls in the last few days, Brooklyn NY, Beaver, UT, and some place from Kentucky. I don't answer them and they don't leave a message. Blocking the number won't help because they will just have a new number the next time they try to call. No, I don't give out my number to anybody, (Publishers Clearing House, etc.) they have robo machines dialing numbers a few hundred at a time and after they hang up, the machine just counts up a number and dials again. I'm going to get laughed at for even thinking about this, but the only way to stop them is to somehow hit the telemarketer companies in their pocketbooks. I propose a national phone system where the caller has to deposit $.05 or $.10 into the savings account of the person receiving the call each time they call you. It would have to be impossible for them to stop the payment and the receiver would get hard, cold cash into their account, not some sort of credit or phony money. An average Joe would not miss the nickel or dime when he makes a call, but the telemarketers who call thousands of calls each day would get hit hard in the pocket book. It could be done if people would demand it.
