I never even knew about Dad's Dad's F-20 still existing at my Uncle's farm until my cousin had tried to pull it home to restore one winter and pulled it into two pieces. Had no interest in it. Other Grandpa, Mom's Dad, had a WC Allis, styled but hand brakes, had the l-o-n-g gear shift lever that you had NO idea what gear you were in until you let out the clutch. Not really interested in that either. And even Grandpa wasn't interested in the two non-running unstyled JD A's even the Deere dealer a half mile away didn't want.
Dad did save my Stage II Super H for me. And I got the '51 M Dad bought new that I drove when I was about 4 years old and solo'd with it pulling the hay rope putting up hay when I was 5.
I took a picture of "The Fleet" May of '68. '57 Farmall 450 with M&W direct axle duals and Koehn tractor cab, then '51 M with clamp-on duals, then '54 Super H, then #70 Cub Cadet. Had just got done planting corn, everything still had duals on. But cultivator was set outside the machine shed ready to put on the 450. Had mowed the yard already with the 70. Had washed and waxed EVERYTHING. Spent two days doing it too. The #70 Cub Cadet, M and Super H are all in my shop. Not really looking for the 450, but if I could find the Super M-TA Dad had from '60 to spring of '65 and traded on the 450 I'd buy that in a New York Minute!
