i've used Bar's brand a couple times. Their head gasket sealer worked great and almost immediately. I had no issues with anything plugging either. I think the newer stuff is better than what they had years ago that could plug things.
i don't/won't consider it a permanent repair. if you use your truck for heavy duty stuff you'll want to fix it. I have a buddy with a duramax with around 430,000ish miles that had had the top end gone thru. He hasn't repaired his yet but doesn't really tow with it. His is an intermittent leak and i don't think he's been able to pin point it either other than external and near the rear of the engine.
