I could not agree with you more. I have two old tractors - a 1939 and a 1943. I am sometimes amazed at how simple, yet extremely rugged for the size they are. Makes me wonder how we ever got away from some of the simpler designs? Wish I had a JD 3010, IH 806, Case 900, some of the good ole' tractors that will still be around long after these newer ones.
