It's perfectly normal to me.3 years ago my 96 Dodge frame was getting punky,so I figured I would change it.The only nice frame I found was from an extra cab truck,so I had to cut a foot out of it.I took EVERYTHING apart on that frame.I even took the rear section off to blast behind it.I epoxy primed every part,and painted it all with urethane before re-assembling it.Found the cab wasn't so hot,but my friends at the junkyard had a nice one so I treated that one and used it.I had to gut the new cab completely,because the diesel wiring harness is a lot different than the gas one.It was in my shop for about 2 months,but I think I have a months worth of real time in it.Plus,I spent about $700.in real cash.Paint,radiator,starter,sand,parts,etc.The guy that owns a Dodge dealership was here buying some Model A parts while I was building it.He said,loaded truck,Cummins,Fisher plow,aluminum flatbed,that truck is $64000 right now.I've plowed with it for 20 years,I really don't plan on plowing for another 20 so it should last.
