I have been gifted a 1973 Case 489 B Ck, The flex hoses are ROTTEN, The Florida sun has ruined the outer jacket then the wire rusted and the hose blew up. I am replacing all of these. Is there any coating or covering that would preserve the new hoses? I have already replaced power steering hoses, and in process of the bucket and back hoe lines. Next question: the steel lines are rusty. Some one suggested replacing the steel lines with flexible hose all the way. That didn't sound correct to me. This my first tractor and first diesel machine. Learning as I go Been told I'm too old to do this LOL!
