Hello Everyone, I was wondering if any of you could help? I purchased a place with 10.7 acres having a house and garage. It presently is under residential status for applying property taxes. I understand from my local tax department that I can convert to agricultural if I meet specific requirements. Number one I am already outside of city limits and no zoning interferes with my plans so I am fine there. Number two, I have to show I averaged an income of $2500 a year from the land for three years. My incentive behind all of this is to lower my property taxes significantly over the long run. My question is: If you were in my situation what land use would you suggest to meet this requirement without high operation costs? I have some equipment, such as tractors, some implements etc. for hobbying and I am open to the idea of investing a little in whatever else I need. I also do not have any experience with farming other than a little gardening. We recently started a small flock of chickens, but did not think something like this could generate the required income. Hope you all can help with suggestions. Thanks, Tim, Ohio
