You are about right. Harry Ferguson built the 3 point hyd found in the old 9N-2N-8N. Ferguson and Ford parted ways in about 1948, at which time Harry started building tractors in England. His first model was a TE-20(tractor made in England) He then expanded to builing tractors in America, thus the TO series(Tracor made overseas). About 1954 Massey Harris and Harry Ferguson got together, again Massey Harris was looking for a good 3 point hitch for there trectors and I'm not sure if one of the company's were hurting for money.
