I won't dispute for a minute the fact that the Powerstrokes are good running and powerful engines. However, I have been around several that are around the 100,000 mile mark, and performance begins to suffer, as well as starting, fuel economy and so forth. Most Cummins that I've been around (and my family has a total of 6 of them ranging from '92s to a 2002), are just starting to hit their stride at 100,000 miles. I know of one that is owned by a friend that has in excess of 300,000 miles with no major repairs. You can't beat that kind of reliability.
