If his county just got a regular ag tractor, then I would not be afraid of that I guess, just compare prices & hours. They probably got a lot of abuse from the kid driving it, but then some of us farmers are none to kind to tractors either, and worse with maintenence! But like you are saying, most of them are either modified, ordered with non-standard hyd or gearing, or ordered very stripped down. I would be concerned that these machines would not meet future expectations in a farm setting. Would really need to know what one is looking at, if it had _all_ the bits that I wanted. (And yes, I only used 5th gear once on the Farmall H with a loader, parts were flying, I was young, dad didn't tell me how fast that thing was!) --->Paul
