I love my 1985 Troy-build Horse, has the Kohler 8 engine. Service sucks but it has only been to the shop 1 time in 27 years. My dad replaced an Allis B with all the tools with this machine! Personally I'd stay away from the little JD's, I've seen too many of them broken (front end on FWD's with loaders especially). Look at a Massy 35 or 135?
Other than that it's hard to beat the Kubotas. They are one tough little machine available in a wide range of sizes.
