Don't think its a '55, last model SC's were made in '54. If the serial number begins w/80, its a '53 or '54. Any other #, subtract 4 from the first two #'s (ie: if the 1st 2#'s are 55-then if you subtract 4, its a '51) to get the year. Yes, Case did make a front end weight. Its about 100 lbs & fits under the radiator. You can get it in & out w/hay hook, but its TOUGH to do without hurting the radiator. Case also made cast iron wheels for the SC-they must weigh at least 75lbs each, maybe even more. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
