Good advice, and a voice for farm safety. Let me add a tragic story to the thread. When I was living in Central Texas during the early 80's. The family that was working my neighbor's farm lost thier five year old son. He was discing with an open cab JD 4020, and was discing near the fence line. There was a big tree with limbs protruding into the field. When he went under the tree, he managed to not get hit by the limb, but his five year old son did get hit and knocked off the tractor in front of the disc. I understand that the boy lived almost five hours. This is one of the things that I've done myself many times. Needless to say I don't practice this anymore and am a little more careful when giving rides on equipment that is designed for only the operator to sit on. Jim
