Spend the money on a good tune-up instead -- points, condensor, rotor, spark plug wires and maybe a new distributor cap. Clean and regap plugs.

If you do install an electronic ignition while having bad plug wires, etc., you are wasting your money. A lot of people use an electronic ignition as a band-aid to try and make up for poor maintenance, bad compression, etc.
