I spent quite a few years on a 7010 and the neighbor has a 7045. His 7045 has a 540 pto shaft. We have used it with a manure spreader and a 16' batwing mower many times. In physical size, I can't tell any difference between the 7010 and the 7045. Big difference in torque. If you can do it for the same price, go with the 426 motor. I don't remember the 7045 being any harder on fuel than the 7010 unless you really worked it hard which you don't seem to need to do anyway. Either way, they are all cheap hp and comfortable tractors with nice cabs. I'm not a big fan of the trannys in these tractors, but you can't beat them for the money.
