I'm planning to build a simple pole barn using a bunch of 2X8 corrugated tin that I've had laying around for a while, and was wondering what the spacing needs to be for the roof grid that the tin will be nailed to. I'll have poles on 8' centers (maybe 10', but 8 should accomodate any of the little equipment I have). I will have support along each side of the entire length of the 2X8 tin, but don't know if I need to have a cross brace every two feet along it's length, or will one in the middle at 4 feet be adequate? This is in Kansas, where we occasionally get a wet heavy snow. The slope of the roof will be a 1 foot drop for every 4 feet of length.
