Are the decals mylar (sticky on one side) or are they the old water dip (dip them in water so they slide off the stiff paper backing)? If it is the mylar decals, spray the area well with Windex so you can put the decal on and "slide" it around to get it perfect. The Windex will evaporate after a period and you can go back and press the decal on more securely. If it is the water dip versions, get the area good and wet and take your time to get the wrinkles out. This type LOVES to stick to itself, so I keep a sharp pointed knife handy to help seperate them again. Don't let the area get too dry - you want them to slide around, so you may have to keep applying water to the area until you are satisfied. Once they are perfect, just leave them alone till they dry fully. I have not had to prep new paint, and the decals stick very well. Good luck, Dan
